You are not alone. Other creatives have similar problems in their process. (Being left-handed myself and a longtime user of fountain pens I had similar obstacles when starting out. I just write with my hand below the line rather than on the line.) Watercolors, or another newish skill, will require a bit of practice. If you remember your first books or single page drawings you'll see as your skills have grown the artwork has changed. Switching to watercolors might be difficult at first, but as you work and play with them they will get easier. I went through something similar when picking up the bassoon after years on saxophones. You are left-handed and a mum and you might have other superpowers you have not tapped yet. Remember to have patience with yourself, and above all, HAVE FUN.
