Over the past month I moved from 2,000 square feet to less than 1,000. Divorce is a marathon and each step reveals ten more. Setting up utilities, buying every little thing from a can opener, to power strips, light bulbs, a tv and furniture is arduous and seemingly endless. In the midst of it, I kept writing and working. There’s still a lot to sort but I am proud of where I am today, making this comic from the first place I’ve lived alone - set up with the help of many loving friends and family. I often feel broken and angry (okay that’s most days) and times I feel jubilant and free. Here isn’t perfect but it’s not forever.
I know my life will continue forward with love and joy - and that’s good enough for now.
