Another rejected cartoon.
I’m truly unfazed by the lack of response from the New Yorker. I don’t submit regularly because unlike earlier, I’m not focused on it. I only submit with a solid idea. I assume rejection which shifts my energy to making the best cartoon. Ultimately, the attempts made me a better cartoonist. That’s a win.
I’m patiently wait for my hold of James, groaning about the excessive heat in California and eager to visit New York on Friday for the Chappaqua Book Festival for a dose of fall. Last night I read this article by Thea Lim and thought, hopefully, that maybe we’re entering an era of tech rejection. As I accept my own rejected cartoons, I know that rejection isn’t bad. It’s an opportunity to stop, grow, and re-focus. Shift energy.
And I believe we’re ready for it.
Love this, Nidhi!
Thanks for sharing another great cartoon!! And for the recommendations, that Thea Lim article is excellent. It reminded me a little of this SOLRAD article by Shea Hennum:
